The Ministry was keen to make open data available to the heritage and tourism sectors through the Ministry’s website, with the aim of supporting the principle of transparency and enabling interested researchers, the private sector, and civil society to access reliable and updated data and information, harness them, and enable them to benefit from them in innovative ways.
It is worth mentioning that this trend, towards providing open data to various sectors in the Sultanate, is in light and within, the government digital transformation program framework. Additionally, it is in order to achieve the Ministry’s objectives to work on improving the management of heritage and tourism information and align it with the government’s digital transformation program and Oman Vision 2040.
